Podcasts - What are they?
Think of podcasts as portable audio.
A podcast is...
1. An audio file you create in .mp3 format...
2. Which contains any audio you wish to share* (for example, a piece of conversational french)
3. That you upload to your school/MFL weblog..
4. That your intended listeners then download automatically (for example, using iTunes).
5. So they can listen to it at their convenience on their own iPod or .mp3 player.
A podcast can be about anything at all. It can contain music in addition to spoken word. It can be any length. Anyone can create a podcast easily using simple FREE software and low cost hardware.
*Remember you must not podcast copyright protected music
